Reelfoot Lake is a shallow natural lake located in the northwest portion of Tennessee.  Much of it is really more of a swamp, with bayou-like ditches (some natural, some man-made) connecting more open bodies of water called basins, the largest of which is called Blue Basin.  Reelfoot Lake is noted for its bald cypress trees and its nesting pairs of bald eagles.  It is the site of Reelfoot Lake State Park.  Lake Isom, a similar, smaller lake to the immediate south, is a National Wildlife Refuge area.

Reelfoot lake Crappie fishing report for the second week of April Rating is (A)
Crappie Fishing at Reelfoot is Very Good.  Fish are being taken in a variety of ways here are most productive methods
Spider rigging 4 to 6 feet deep double rig minnows seem to produce good size fish and numbers. Swan basin, Grooms pocket, are a couple areas very productive for spider fishing if the wind allows.
Jigs tipped with minnows spider fishing also is giving fisherman good numbers.
Single pole jig fishing if you’re not set up for spider rig is also good. Fish Cypress trees in  4 feet of water straight jigs or tipped with wax worms work good a good population of fish are in Eagle Nest Timber area and are biting mid morning and late afternoon.
Wind has been a major factor this week in picking your fishing hole but limits were still plentiful on the docks at the resorts of Reelfoot. Check out Blue Bank Resort on Facebook for pictures daily.
